CULTURE

“The most effective way to understand people is through their culture, through direct contact with the sounds and images that move them deeply. I am confident that the mutual understanding that such exchange creates can be the basis for true and lasting peace” Daisaku Ikeda

Culture imbues life with fulfillment and joy and inspires mutually enriching relations among people throughout the world.

Min-On Concert Association, founded in 1963, seeks to deepen understanding and friendship among countries and their peoples by promoting global music and cultural exchange, in the belief that artistic expression can foster peace by transcending differences of nationality, race and language. Over the past decade, Min-On, based in Tokyo, has promoted music, dance and other performing arts exchanges with groups from some 90 countries and territories. It sponsors some 1300 performances each year.

The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, founded in 1983. The museum houses approximately 25000 items of artwork – paintings, pottery, sculptures, photographs – from East and West, ancient and modern.
