The 135th SOHA was an electrifying display of youthful passion and purpose. For two days, Doon International School (DIS) transformed into a crucible of sustainability, where students forged a powerful collective voice for a greener tomorrow. The exhibition touched a grand total of 500 lives.
The exhibition commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony graced by the presence of the esteemed Director, Ms. Meghna Sharma, Vice Principal Ms. Vinisha Sharma, and esteemed dignitaries Ms. Vanu Vij and Mr. Brij Aggarwal from BSG. Ms. Vij delivered an enlightening address, sharing insights about BSG and our initiative, “BSG for SDG.”
Student volunteers were the heart and soul of this endeavour. Their voices, ablaze with conviction, delivered presentations that were not mere speeches but urgent calls to action. The exhibition was a catalyst, igniting a wildfire of determination in students from Grade 3 onwards to translate lofty SDGs into tangible realities.
Beyond raising awareness, the SOHA shone a beacon on the need for collective action. It showcased the inspiring strides made by individuals and organizations across the globe in areas such as eradicating poverty, quality education, clean energy, and combating climate change. These stories of hope and progress are a testament to the power of human ingenuity and collaboration.
Energized by the exhibition’s success, DIS looks to solidify its position as a sustainability vanguard, inspiring not only students but also the wider community to embrace ‘sustainable human behaviour’.
