A Webinar on ‘10 Volume Ikeda Study Series’ was organised by BSG and Gandhi Media Centre on Thursday 29th April 2021.
The webinar focused on the below-mentioned books:
(1) Ikeda: Youth as Leaders
(2) Ikeda’s Youthful Diary: A Handbook on Youth Leadership
In the 10-book series on youth, Dr Radhakrishnan focusses on President Ikeda’s world of activism, vision, and new thoughts with which he continues to influence people around the world. Dr Radhakrishnan highlights President Ikeda’s focus on the youth and women in his quest to establish lasting world peace.
Eminent speakers who spoke at the webinar included Mr. Michael Kok, President, Soka Gakkai Malaysia, Mr. Dinesh Chandran, Young Men’s Division Vice Leader, Soka Gakkai Malaysia, Ms. Koo Wei Qian, Young Women’s Student Division Vice Leader, Soka Gakkai Malaysia, Ms. Vasudha. R, Ikeda Study Centre, Soka Ikeda Women’s College and Dr Namrata Sharma, Professor, State University of New York at Oswego.
On behalf of BSG, Mr. Nihit Arora, Deputy Young Men’s Division Leader and Ms. Surbhi Sharma, Deputy Young Women’s Division Leader addressed the gathering.
The speakers shared their views from different chapters of the 2 books and spoke about a variety of topics. They shared about the unique challenges before President Ikeda as a Young leader and how he was groomed by his mentor Second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda. They also discussed the “Golden bond between the Mentor and disciple” and the lessons from Ikeda’s ‘Youthful Dairy’.
In his concluding speech, Dr N Radhakrishnan expressed his deep appreciation to the young leaders for participating in the webinar and for sharing their lessons from the 2 books with everyone.
This webinar, attended by over 800 members and friends of BSG, was the 5th webinar in the series of webinars being organised to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of President Ikeda’s first visit to India in the year 1961.
