A webinar on ‘10 Volume Ikeda Study Series’ authored by Dr. N. Radhakrishnan was organized by BSG and Gandhi Media Centre on Monday, 12th April 2021.
The webinar focused on the below-mentioned books:
(1) Daisaku Ikeda: A Life dedicated to World Peace
(2) Ikeda: Champion of Women’s Power and
(3) Ikeda: Human Rights as Value
In the 10-book series on youth, Dr Radhakrishnan focusses on President Ikeda’s world of activism, vision, and new thoughts with which he continues to influence people around the world. Dr Radhakrishnan highlights President Ikeda’s focus on the youth and women in his quest to establish lasting world peace.
Eminent speakers who spoke at the webinar included Dr Anoop Swaroop, Vice-Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University, Prof. Sankar K Sanyal, Chairman, Harijan Sevak Sangh, Sister Mythili, Managing Trustee, Madhavimandiram Lok Sevak Trust, Dr Angela M H Ng, Assoc. Prof., Faculty of Medicine, National University of Malaysia, Dr. C. Pratheep, Secretary, Gandhi Media Foundation, Dr Sethu Kumanan, Founder, Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women and Dr Namrata Sharma, Professor, State University of New York at Oswego.
On behalf of BSG, Mr Vishesh Gupta, Chairperson, Bharat Soka Gakkai, Dr Akash Ouchi, Honorary Deputy Chairperson, Bharat Soka Gakkai, Mr. Sumant Misra, Young Men’s Division Leader, Bharat Soka Gakkai and Ms. Shruti Nangia, Young Women’s Division Leader, Bharat Soka Gakkai, addressed the gathering.
The speakers shared their views from different chapters of the 3 books and spoke about a variety of topics including Buddhist Perspectives on Human Rights, equality of women, Forgiveness and Reconciliation and ‘a mother’s role as a guardian angel’ etc.
In his concluding speech, Dr N Radhakrishnan expressed his gratitude to all the speakers for participating in the webinar and for sharing their invaluable learnings with the everyone.
This webinar, attended by over 600 members and friends of BSG, was the 4th webinar in the series of webinars being organised to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of President Ikeda’s first visit to India in the year 1961.
