The 134th SOHA perfectly matched Miranda House’s week-long internship program for school students. Aligned with the internship’s focus on ‘sustainability and environment’, SOHA became quite popular amongst students. The exhibition drew approximately 400 attendees, including students and faculty from Miranda House and other schools.

BSG and Miranda House, Delhi University, Find a Common Interest in ‘Sustainability and Environment’

Miranda House student volunteers, equipped with knowledge gained from an orientation conducted by BSG coordinators, enthusiastically engaged visitors in discussions about ‘the power of one’ in sustainability. The exhibition effectively conveyed the essence of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), generating significant interest and curiosity, particularly around the concept of ‘Sustainable human behavior’.

To ensure the exhibition ran smoothly, ten volunteers from BSG’s Education Division provided invaluable support. The exhibition also garnered attention from Miranda House’s principal, Prof. Bijayalaxmi Nanda, and other distinguished guests, who offered encouragement to the student volunteers.

SOHA at Miranda House could successfully raise awareness about environmental concerns and foster a sense of social responsibility. Positive feedback from attendees was abundant, with many expressing a desire to learn more about Indian contributions to the SDGs.

This experience has inspired Miranda House to dive into more sustainability initiatives. The college aims to collaborate further with BSG on the same. Overall, the exhibition proved to be a rewarding experience for volunteers, participants, and organizers alike.
