The exhibition was organized by Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, in association with BSG. The exhibition was viewed by around 50 students and teachers from the school.

SOHA Exhibition held in St. Stephens College, Delhi University

The panels were presented by a group of student volunteers. The students explained each panel with great fervour and shared additional information which kept the audience engaged.

The panel presentation was followed by an interactive session where the students asked pertinent questions related to Sustainability.

Ms. Aseema Gokhale (Faculty), gave the vote of thanks and shared an insightful poem titled “Prayer for Mother Earth” which implored the audience to safeguard all life on earth.

1st ‘Offline” SOHA Exhibition held in St. Stephens College, Delhi University

Seeds of Hope and Action Exhibition (SOHA) was organized by BSG on Friday, 6th May 2022 for working professionals pursuing the Young Leaders Fellowship Program at St. Stephen’s college in Delhi University. These youth were from India’s neighbourhood including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Maldives.

This was the 1st SOHA exhibition to be held ‘Offline’ after a long gap of more than 2 years.
The session started with presentations on SOHA Exhibition and on the topic ‘Youth and SDGs’. This was followed by an open session, wherein the youth engaged in a heartfelt interaction with BSG, showcasing their keen spirit to bring about a transformation in their country, living the power of one, which is also the key theme of the SOHA exhibition.

On behalf of BSG, Chairperson Mr Vishesh Gupta and All-India YWD Chief Ms Shruti Nangia interacted with the youth and answered their questions.

To a query on the BSG’s contributions towards realizing SDGs, Mr Gupta explained that BSG has adopted the 3-step formula of ‘Learn, Empower, Act’ as outlined by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and shared the various initiatives undertaken by BSG. He shared that when youth become conscientious about saving food, water, electricity, and about protecting the natural environment etc, their actions inspire their parents to also adopt sustainable behaviour patterns. This can become a catalyst for effecting lasting change on a global level.

The offline exhibition was later opened for all the students of St Stephens college.

Principal Prof John Varghese viewed the panels along with the group and expressed appreciation to BSG for the initiative and hoped that the takeaways from the QnA would help the youth play a vital role as decision makers to take SDGs forward in their respective countries.

SOHA Exhibition: It starts with one, here and now!

The exhibition was organized by Hill Spring International School, Mumbai, in association with BSG. The exhibition was viewed by around 60 students of Grade 8 and 9 from the school.

The panels were shown in a presentation format (within the school premises) in 2 separate sessions. A group of students volunteered to explain the panels and kept the audience engaged and asked for inputs and ideas as they presented the panels.

The students participated actively and shared the importance of the role of youth and our daily actions in addressing the global issues that confront the world.

Ms.Mamta Motwani (Faculty), extensively supported the students in the presentation. She thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and encouraged the students to envision a better world.

SOHA Exhibition: Learning from People Taking Action

The online exhibition was organized by Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur in association with BSG. Students pursuing M.Arch.(Urban Design) and B.Arch. Program actively participated in organizing the event. Around 200 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

A group of students from the institute presented the panels and explained several case studies which demonstrated the ‘power of one’. The exhibition concluded with an interactive Question-Answer session in which students asked various questions on implementation of SDGs at an individual level and on a larger scale.

Dean Academics, Prof. Narender Singh Rathore, praised the exhibition as a unique initiative as the panels showed actions taken by individuals and communities and gives a ray of hope for change, beginning at grassroots level.

College Faculty, Prof. Sonia Maheshwari, thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and urged the students to take responsibility for transforming their communities.

The online exhibition was organized by Peace forum club and Psy-spiritual club, Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences (AIPS), Amity University in collaboration with BSG. Around 100 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The exhibition started with a powerful dance performance by the students of the AIPS.

A group of students from the college and from Campus group of BSG (in Amity University) presented the panels and elaborated on the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through individual actions. Several examples of the ‘Power of One’ to bring about a great transformation in society, from the exhibition panels, were shared by the students.

SOHA Exhibition: It starts with one, here and now!

The online exhibition was organized by DAV College, Chandigarh in collaboration with BSG. Around 80 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The exhibition started with a welcome address by the Principal, DAV College, Dr Pawan Sharma. Dr Sharma, welcome all the participants and talked about the need to curb humanity’s greed to consume the natural resources.

A group of students from the college gave a powerful musical performance which included instrumental music accompanied by song and dance. This was followed by the exhibition panels presentation. A group of students explained the panels and elaborated on the need to change our hearts in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Examples of individuals demonstrating the ‘Power of One’, from the exhibition panels, were shared by the students.

The exhibition was held in hybrid mode with several students viewing the panel presentation together and many others through who were connected online. Around 250 students and educators viewed the exhibition.

A few volunteer students presented the exhibition panels to their fellow students. The educators shared relevant data and examples to drive home the importance of caring for our environment and the role of youth in realizing SDGs.

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 21st February 2022 at IIS Girls University, Jaipur. Around 100 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition was to raise awareness and educate the youth about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations. In addition, the panels conveyed the message of hope and the power of one single individual.

This SOHA exhibition introduced the importance of sustainable living so that we can contribute to the realization of the SDGs. Effective communication of important concepts related to sustainability and and how they are the key to furthering humanity’s efforts to fulfill the SDGs was aided by several case studies of individuals from around the world who strove to bring about a positive change in their communities.

The students of IIS presented the panels and engaged the audience in a lively discussion.

A group of 12 students from IES gave a detailed presentation on the panels and shared their own vision of a sustainable world. The presentation was followed by an interactive QnA session.

The purpose of the exhibition was to raise awareness and educate the youth about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations. The exhibition is divided into 5 sections namely – Inspire, Learn, Reflect, Empower, Act and Lead – a formula developed by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda

This SOHA exhibition introduced a pragmatic vision for sustainable living so that we can contribute to the realization of the SDGs. Effective communication of these concepts and how they are the key to furthering humanity’s efforts to fulfill the SDGs was aided by several real-life stories of individuals who strived to bring about a positive change in response to the social situations they found themselves in.

The students presented their own interpretations of the exhibition panels and its reception by those in attendance demonstrated the hours of preparation they put in as well as the ideas they brainstormed.

‘Seeds Of Hope & Action’ (SOHA) Held In Indian Institute Of Forest Management, Bhopal

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 30th October 2021 at Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The online exhibition, which was organized by the Climate Change and Environment Core Competency Cell (C2EC3), was viewed by around 100 students and faculty. A training session was organized by BSG for the students of the Institute about the various aspects of the exhibition. The students in turn enthusiastically leaned and further explained every panel to their peers and faculty.

A powerful Violin recital and medley of songs was presented by the students as a part of the program. A short film introducing BSG and its activities was also screened for the audience. The exhibition concluded with an ‘interaction session’ in which students asked various questions on Climate Action on the upcoming COP26 event.

Dr. Bhaskar Sinha, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Centre for Climate Change Studies, thanked BSG for organizing the session and hoped to hold similar sessions in the future.
