Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar, recently hosted the 147th SOHA. What truly sets this exhibition apart is its youth-centric approach. At this SOHA, too, the young student volunteers, armed with a deep understanding of the topics, expertly guided visitors through the panels. Their enthusiasm and passion were infectious, making the complex issues of climate change and sustainability relatable and accessible to all.

SOHA: A Watershed Moment for Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar

The panels themselves are a visual feast, highlighting the devastating effects of human activities on our planet. From deforestation and pollution to climate change and resource depletion, the exhibition left no stone unturned. However, it was not just about highlighting the problems; it was about inspiring solutions. The panels encouraged students to inspire, learn, reflect, empower, act, and lead.

The exhibition was more than just an informative display; it was a call to action. By engaging with the content and interacting with the student ambassadors, visitors were empowered to make a difference. Whether it was reducing their carbon footprint, conserving water, or advocating for sustainable practices, the exhibition provided the tools and motivation to take meaningful steps.

Inspired by the energy of the student volunteers, the student visitors were swept up in a whirlwind of excitement, rushing from one panel to the next. SOHA was unanimously praised by students and teachers as a crucial first step in empowering young people to take action and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

This SOHA recorded an enormous footfall. Around 4,800 students with 140 teachers arrived at the exhibition. Over 80 students and 12 teachers worked tirelessly to make it memorable and impactful. Their dedication and heartfelt efforts were evident in every aspect of the exhibition.

The 147th SOHA demonstrated the power of education and engagement in fostering environmental awareness and inspiring action. As these young minds grow and develop, they will undoubtedly be at the forefront of the movement to create a more sustainable and equitable future for generations to come.
